A Word of Caution Regarding Entangling Alliances

During the present crucial struggle of true Christian Churches to be faithful to their Head, the Lord Jesus Christ, many spiritual casualties are observed on all sides.

The American Council of Christian Churches believes that most of these casualties have resulted when churches, and individual Christians have become involved in entangling alliances. Many and varied groups which are not related to, sponsored or controlled by churches have arisen which draw their followers and finances from the churches. These groups are sound in most doctrines, purposes, motives and goals. Many of them, however, have become big and powerful, so that they wield strong influence in the churches they claim to be helping, often involving them in compromises which God forbids and we must therefore condemn.

We therefore call upon all Bible believers and Bible-believing churches to re-examine every phase of their work, activity and affiliations. Wherever the slightest taint of compromise is involved, let this be promptly corrected or separated from. This will enable us to join in a great and united stand for the cause of the true separated Bible Christianity in these days before our Lord returns.

Since 1941 the ACCC has sought to PROVIDE information, encouragement, and assistance to Bible-believing churches, fellowships and individuals; to PRESERVE our Christian heritage through exposure of, opposition to, and separation from doctrinal impurity and compromise in current religious trends and movements; to PROTECT churches from religious and political restrictions, subtle or obvious, that would hinder their ministries for God; to PROMOTE obedience to the inerrant Word of God.
