In Tribute to Mrs. Alice Colas

The American Council of Christian Churches honors the memory of Alice Colas (1930-2021), the widow of the Council’s longtime Executive Secretary, Dr. Ralph Colas (1930-2015). Mrs. Colas displayed the characteristics of an earnest believer in Christ, a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her steadfast support of her late husband in his pastoral ministries and his tenure of service in the ACCC marked her as a “woman that feareth the LORD.” (Proverbs 31:30) Her nursing education and experience equipped her to care for her husband in his years of declining health, and her ready smiles and good cheer when she accompanied her husband to ACCC gatherings encouraged all whom she encountered.

The members of the Council’s Executive Committee especially are thankful to the Lord for the blessing that Mrs. Colas has been to the members of that committee. Her prayer support and encouraging words enabled committee members to continue in their labors for the Lord.  Like so many of her fellow believers in Christ, Alice Colas now rests from her labors and her works do follow her.  We commend her surviving family to the Lord and pray that Christ’s comforting presence will strengthen their resolve to continue following the Master.

Since 1941 the ACCC has sought to PROVIDE information, encouragement, and assistance to Bible-believing churches, fellowships and individuals; to PRESERVE our Christian heritage through exposure of, opposition to, and separation from doctrinal impurity and compromise in current religious trends and movements; to PROTECT churches from religious and political restrictions, subtle or obvious, that would hinder their ministries for God; to PROMOTE obedience to the inerrant Word of God.
